(William) Blackstone Commentary On The Laws Of England

The first link below (which is a detailed and loooong commentary) would be very nice to read in its entirety. But if you have some starting trouble with the language in the first couple of pages, do what I am doing. Skip those pages and continue to read.

Muslim Hindu Adoption

I am reminded of the SRK and Juhi Chawla One 2 ka 4 and also one Crime Patrol episode that I saw 2 years back where a Hindu guy adopts a Muslim boy who is (lost and) roaming in the streets and the boy's parents finally locate their son and take him away from the poor Hindu "father". What happens in the court subsequently is unbelievably poignant. Beautiful.

Return Of The Dead

I am reminded of one of the last scenes in the movie Talaash and the original scene in Dragonfly as mentioned in passing in an earlier post - both relating to the "almost / beyond dead" theme.

Neil Warren's 2nd Date With eHarmony.com

"How To Know If Someone Is Worth Pursuing In Two Dates Or Less": Quite an interesting book: http://www.amazon.com/Know-Someone-Worth-Pursuing-Dates/dp/0785269045 -even if he does say many of the things that I have felt for years

It's uncanny. Almost as if the author had been eavesdropping on my thoughts!!

I was thinking about the author. He is a J (as in MBTI) - imagine setting a target of TWO dates to decide, an N definitely. I was wondering whether he could be F when I came across this from his book:
KEEP REMINDING YOURSELF THAT THE TRUTH IS ALWAYS FRIENDLIER THAN ANYTHING LESS THAN THE TRUTH.
That settled it. NTJ.

And Warren's thoughts on this subject are similar to those of Helen Fisher (read this also) - in the sense that both believe that each person is inherently more compatible with certain types of people than with other types. Fisher has made it more structured and abstracted than Warren.

Beauty

It is very essential to believe this for all of us who neither have a pretty face nor a pretty heart or soul or mind. Better to shift the discussion towards an intangible thing like heart / mind / soul which cannot be easily evaluated from a face which unfortunately can be. We feminine people should never box ourselves into a corner on things which can be easily evaluated.

Long live the heart and soul and the mind and to heck with the face (and BTSA).
