HDFC cancer 10 lacs
20% payout on early stage detection. Balance at major stage. 5800 yearly premium for 10 years. This is for AG option. Upto 85 age, premium is 10k per year. Policy amount can be increased later. But premium will not increase pro rata. For example, 10lac is doubled next year, 10k premium may become 22k to 23k.
Can be paid online. 
Note: if cancer is detected 2 years later and if it's found that it was pre-existing at the time policy was taken them claim may be denied.


ICICI PRU
10l cancer + 2l heart (min) for 22 years: 25% for minor each, 75% for major each of cancer and heart payout. 12.8k premium per year  Hospitalization for 30 days total for 22 years subject to 10 days max per year is rs 270 per month additional premium. 10% increase in coverage upto max double is another 15k premium per year. These two are optional. Min is 12.8k. medical test (blood and urine will be arranged either at home or branch) by company at their cost after purchase of policy. Depending on report, premium may be increased. Option to cancel policy exists then. Money will be refunded within 30 days.

Premium for heart is 10k for 5L cover. How is this better than mediclaim?

  • If afflicted first by one type of cancer, then by another what happens?
  • Till when is the coverage? Will premium remain the same until then?
  • What documents are required for payout by insurer?
  • Can coverage be increased later? How does it work?
