Hip Implant And Catheter

Leading to Fall
She fell down around 2pm on sat jun 15, on the way to the toilet. I had left her hand for a few seconds in BR1 when she fell down heavily on her side and hit the built-in cupboard. She was conscious and in tremendous pain. I called jeyam healthcare the next day. Ramesh was out of town so siva attended. Since she complained of chest pain, he suspected a heart attack. He gave some medication which were the repeat of what ramesh had prescribed 3 days earlier when ramesh checked her don't a regular visit. Siva suggested that we check for a couple of days and if the pain persisted then we should get an x ray.

On Monday morning she was very much in pain and we had a very different time lifting her from the bed. During the previous week she had difficulty walking. She couldn't move her legs. The hip bone was already very weak. Saturday's fall finished it.

I called prithika. She suggested that we get an x ray and an ortho to check. After lunch on Monday, arranged an ambulance and reached river at 1130. MLN looked at x ray and recommended surgery by next morning. He told me that she would likely start walking at least a few steps with a walker by Wednesday, the day after surgery.
I checked with her and confirmed to LmN.

Admission
She checked in at 530pm. All the tim staye we were waiting for a semi room to get free. I left her with priya And returned by 730pm. Next morning, Tuesday, she was taken from her room at 6AM, by 830AM she was back into observation room. And by noon she was back in her own room. Everything was stable on Tuesday. By Wednesday when the physio came, the issues started. She couldn't even stand on her legs even with 2 people holding her shoulders. The same continued on thu, then fri. Meanwhile i told the doctors that person they should see her in (in)action with the Physiotherapist. They said no, it wasn't required and they all understood each other's work and that they would be in touch with each other.

On Thu, the tall physio guy said that her getting better will depend on her own strength and will power and that he wouldn't be able to do anything. The neurologist said that she is in pain and had recently undergone surgery And her medications had been stopped for 2 days and hence this would be a little rocky and not to focus on the temporary issue.

By Friday it was obvious that it would be a long journey to get back to her pre fall status and that she would be bedridden and unable to walk when she returned home.

Meanwhile GHP was acting up and it took a desperate call with maha on Saturday to sort this out. GHP was sorted out by 1pm on sat. We returned by ambulance by 430pm. She was very weak and had a catheter attached. She slept till 8pm and then had a glass of apple juice and threptin and slept again. She was fed in a sleeping position on sat night.

Sunday morning dhanam, attendant, arrived. Priya and dhanam cleaned her up. She sat in the wheel chair till 11am by which time she finished her lunch. We moved her from wheel chair to bed in hall. As of 130pm she is still sleeping. She will have tea around 330pm or 4pm. We will keep it in a flask. Dinner around 630pm.

Physio could not come today, kavya apologized. He will start coming from tomorrow. Review with Ortho team is in a week which can be handled by dhanam's organization. Need to confirm with gayatri about neuro review on Monday at 2pm.

The next millstone is her being able to move from sleeping to sitting position and sitting to standing position and vice versa without trouble. This will lead to catheter removal.
