After the Nepali women's sexual abuse by Saudi diplomat in Delhi and Devyani's issue with maids in USA, comes this news of a woman's hand being chopped off by the employer.
More coverage on the news about the hand being chopped off:

There are some interesting aspects.
Apparently the issue of poor (read awful) treatment of migrant workers is quite common in the Middle East, especially in Saudi. And that the employer who chopped off the arm, if found guilty, could be imprisoned for up to a year. Wow..
I wonder. Are the Saudis low in IQ or EQ or both? The sudden transition from camel to oil has probably gotten into their head. A saying in Tamil goes like this: "An idiot who suddenly becomes rich carries an umbrella at night."
There is something with a person who believes that different rules of justice apply to him than the ones that apply to others.
Neither in the Nepali maids' case nor in the Tamil maid's case has India been able to do anything with the Saudis. Susham Swaraj has apparently expressed her protest strongly in tweeter. She might as well have expressed it in the privacy of her bedroom. Who gives a damn.
But if one looks at human rights or justice in India - are things any different? A backward country is not one with a poor per capita income. It's one with poor justice. India and Saudi both are backward by this definition.
From this link: "This week a Saudi housewife who used her mobile phone to secretly film her partner as he made advances to a female servant in the kitchen of the family home is facing a prison sentence for "defaming" her husband."
