Bias Warps Justice

Sure it does. Bias comes out of F (Feeling as in MBTI). This lovely article by Adam Beforado explains how cognitive dissonance works, how we distort data to suit our preconceived opinion.

2.3 Million People Apply For 368 Posts in UP.

That's right. 23 lakh people apply for the post of peons in Uttar Pradesh in India. These include candidates with Masters and doctorate degrees.

Read this and this.

I wonder whether this indicates:
  • a very poor job market and that people aren't even getting a peon job or
  • that people prefer a the role and job of a peon in a government establishment.
Interesting.

Islam FAQ

These are some links and quotes on Islam
This is a very interesting reading on FAQ about Islam:

Here is a quote from another interesting link as representing the opinion of Sunni Muslims worldwide:
"We affirm the right to freedom of thought, religion, conscience, and expression...We believe that God created us with all the diversity of race, religion, language, and belief to get to know one another, respect one another, and uphold our collective human dignity."
To me as I observe Islam in action in the world, the above quote seems quite far-fetched.

100 frequently asked questions about Islam: http://www.ing.org/top-100-frequently-asked-questions-about-muslims-and-their-faith/ Answers are explained well though quite often they sound hypocritical.

60 questions Muslims don't like to be asked: http://www.bible.ca/islam/islam-questions.htm This sound very academic to me and frankly, boring.
