Why are you being so cold and distant all of a sudden? I thought we were making progress towards getting back together again,” she will then say something like, “I’m sorry for giving you the impression that I want to get back with you. Please just leave me alone.”   Her ex is then left feeling confused and probably even a bit annoyed at her for giving him mixed messages."
