We Indians React Fast
Few days back couple of ministers in the state of Karnataka were caught watching porn on their mobiles while supposedly at work. The Karnataka government has imposed a ban, or so I understand, on cameras.
This is fast reaction after recognizing a problem. I would have loved it. But once ministers stop watching porn, do we assume they would do their duty? We expect our ministers to only not watch porn?
And if they do watch porn but are otherwise good ministers, should we still crackdown? What the heck has watching porn at work got to do with being a minister? Watching porn is a rather silly thing to do. Not a serious offence. And the government is treating it like a first degree crime.
Damn, when do we wake up and mete out appropriate treatment for a crime or misdemeanor?
Bohra Women Stop Cooking
I read this article about Bohra women in Rajkot who have stopped cooking. They instead get food delivered from the central kitchen. This of course doesn't come free.
The idea was apparently mooted by the Bora community religious leader and it found favor with half of the Bohra families.
The women freed of cooking chore now apparently have time for other activities. The question that comes to my mind is: do the families get more money now than they used to earlier? Does the wife earn money and contribute to the family finances?
The surprising thing is that the article focuses more on the community kitchen (which is just a simple catering service) than on the money that the wives are making and contributing to their family. I wonder what I am missing.

Interesting Judgment On Property Rights
I came across this judgment today about property rights and that children who have become adults do not have a right to stay with the parents.
I still wonder what caused the father to file a case against his daughter preventing her from entering his flat without his permission.
